The 5th grade teachers at
Pickering Valley Elementary School organized an event aimed at helping the
"Second Time Around", a no kill animal shelter in Eagle. The project began on February 8th when
students began collecting old towels, dog food, biscuits, brushes, toys, cat
food, and rawhide. Students then
wrote persuasive speeches and delivered their speeches to students of all
ages throughout the building. The
fifth grade students shared information about the shelter and asked for help
in collecting donations for this worthy cause. The students had an excellent
response and delivered bags of supplies to the grateful shelter.
