When and where does LES Home & School meet?

LES H&S meets every second Monday of every other month in the Lionville Elementary Large Group Instruction room (across the hall from the cafeteria, next to the library).  The meeting begins at 7:00 pm and is usually over by 8:30 pm, or you may leave when you are ready to go. Free childcare is available.

What goes on at the meeting?

Appropriate committees (pertinent to the time of year) give a quick update of what is going on, as does the principal and the teacher representative. Also discussed may be funding of projects, news pertinent to the school, or new ideas.  We might vote on allocating funds. 

Anyone who attends a meeting is encouraged to contribute his/her ideas and opinions, and ask questions.  Or you may just want to listen and learn what is happening at Lionville Elementary.  It's fun and it's easy.

Whom do you contact to volunteer or to get more information?

Every fall, at the start of the school year, a volunteer form goes out to parents.  You just fill it out and return it to school; then you will be contacted.  Or you may contact any committee chairperson listed in the handbook, or call any of the

How much time would you have to give?

Any amount of time you would like to give is appreciated!  It can be one morning a year or one afternoon every week--there is always a way to help out.  All kinds of help or input is needed.  You may even be able to do something out of your home.

Or you don’t have to volunteer at all.  Just try attending a meeting or two to find out what is going on; participate in decision-making.

Your involvement makes a big difference.  Your children spend an average of 30+ hours at school each week.  Isn't it worth an investment of between 1-2 hours per month to get a feel for what's going on at their school? 

What do you get out of all this?
